Science Committee heads west

The CRCNPB’s Science Committee met in Perth from 18 – 21 August 2009 to discuss, and further develop, strategic responses to the issues of delivery, adoption and impact of key investments in each of our programs.

During the meeting, the Science Committee hosted a number of WA-based project staff and students for an informal ‘mixer’ function. The function was well attended and allowed our project teams and students to discuss their work in person with the Science Committee.

Initial feedback from the function has been positive and similar opportunities for other CRCNPB project staff to informally interact with the Science Committee are being considered for the Science Committee 2010 meeting program.

The meeting also undertook the formal scoring of projects based on information and reporting in IMAP. Formal scoring of projects occurs each quarter. The results of each alternate quarter are formally reported to our Board, Participants Committee and Grains Advisory Panel (i.e. twice annually).

The Science Committee also completed planning for the upcoming Science Exchange, including award nominations. The Science Committee have reviewed abstracts and the program will be finalised this week. The Science Committee looks forward to meeting with our research teams and  stakeholders at the Science Exchange in September.
