UAVs take centre stage at innovation showcase

On Wednesday 7 December the CRCNPB took part in the AusIndustry Innovation in Australia showcase in Brisbane.

At the showcase the CRCNPB displayed an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), which was quite dramatic when hung in the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre.

With the UAV hanging high above the CRCNPB stand, it helped to draw a lot of interest to the stand, including from the former Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, the Hon Kim Carr.

UAVs play an integral role in the CRCNPB’s Flying Spore Traps project (CRC30032).

CRCNPB staff members Max Knobel and Andrew Crichton were joined on the stand by researchers from QUT who work on the project, Felipe Gonzalez, Richard Glassock and Federica Solda.

It was a delicate process hanging the UAV in the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre.
