Bobbie has an interest in taxonomy and systematics of Lepidoptera.

Before beginning her PhD studies, Bobbie completed an Honours year in Chemistry at the Australian National University and a Bachelors degree in Zoology and Chemistry at La Trobe University in Melbourne.

Bobbie states that she is 'very fortunate to be mentored by two of Australia's most knowledgeable Lepidopterists, Mr Ted. Edwards and Dr. Marianne Horak, at the Australian National Insect Collection, CSIRO Entomology, Canberra'.
