Pathfinders: The Innovators Conference

Pathfinders Conference

Investing in science and innovation is crucial for Australia to stay competitive in an increasingly knowledge-based global economy. Cooperative Research Centres (CRCs) help to ensure that Australia remains internationally competitive, with Australian industry benefiting from smarter, faster and more reliable products, technologies and processes.

This year's annual CRC Association conference - Pathfinders: The Innovators Conference will focus on the route out of the global financial crisis.

The formidable line-up of national and international speakers is expected to attract scientists, politicians, senior government officials and business leaders, who will hear presentations on how innovation can help fortify industry and governments against financial shocks.

Keynote speakers will include Australia's Chief Scientist, Professor Penny Sackett and CSIRO's Chief Executive Officer, Dr Megan Clark.

The conference program also includes a showcase of early career scientists, a gala awards dinner for ‘Excellence in Innovation', as well as an international collaboration cocktail reception.

Pathfinders: The Innovators Conference will be held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra between 26-28 May 2009 and will be aligned with the Australian Science Festival.
